29/11/2006 |
| 29th November, 2006 – Prague´s luxurious five-star Corinthia Towers Hotel was recently presented with the Jaroslav Vasata Bronze Plaque for ‘Best Gastronomy Concept 2006,’ by the Czech edition of Food-Service magazine. Corinthia Towers Hotel is the first ever hotel in the Czech Republic to receive this accolade. Expressing his satisfaction on receiving the prestigious award, hotel general manager Christian Grage said “We are truly honoured to receive such an award. It is gratifying to see one’s efforts being recognised by such an authoritative source as Food Service Magazine, which is highly regarded as one of the top catering publications. This award will motivate us in continuing to develop our creative gastronomy, and implementing further high-quality restaurant concepts and culinary events. This is very much in line with CHI’s “Spirit of Corinthia” philosophy of offering a service marked by a unique Warmth, Colour and Vitality in all its hotels internationally”. On her part, Food-Service Magazine editor-in-chief Maria Horníková added “The Corinthia Towers Hotel has consistently been providing its patrons with a variety of quality concept restaurants, among them the award-winning oriental ‘Rickshaw Restaurant’. It has also provided a steady stream of innovatively themed gastronomic events, such as the ‘Invasion of The Lobsters’, ‘Invasion of the Clams’, ‘Touch&Taste Australia’ and ‘Touch&Taste South Africa’, all of which became very popular among Prague citizens and hotel guests. Organizing these types of events broadens the culinary horizon of food enthusiasts and the Corinthia Towers therefore fully deserves this award.” The Jaroslav Vasata Bronze Plaque for ‘Best Gastronomy Concept’ has been awarded by the professional gastronomy monthly magazine Food-Service since the year 2000. The prize is awarded to catering establishments that regularly offer innovative gastronomy concepts that are highly appreciated by a consistently high number of visitors and who commit themselves to the ongoing development of new concepts. The Jaroslav Vasata Bronze Plaque is named after a successful Czech gastronome who was forced to leave Czechoslovakia for the U.S.A in 1948, where he continued his career as a successful restaurant entrepreneur. Jaroslav Vasata is a symbol of progressive Czech gastronomy. The Corinthia Towers Hotel forms part of the Corinthia Hotels brand, a luxury collection of five-star hotels in Lisbon, Portugal; Budapest, Hungary; Prague, Czech Republic; St. Petersburg, Russia; Malta; and Tripoli, Libya, all operated by CHI Ltd, the hotel operating arm of the Malta based International Hotel Investments plc (IHI). |
